hey thats me!
Ever since I knew how to hold a pencil (regardless of teachers trying to fix my weird pencil grip), I've been passionate about creating art. Art has helped me to express myself in ways words can't, and has been a constant source of joy and inspiration in my life. Art is messy just like life, but it is also beautiful and rewarding. I want to continue sharing my love for art with others through art lessons.
I offer art lessons for all ages and skill levels. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced artist looking to refine your skills, I can help you achieve your artistic goals. Lessons can be tailored to your interests and needs, and can cover a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, and digital art.
You'll learn the fundamentals of drawing, including line, shape, form, and perspective. We'll also cover shading and blending techniques to bring your drawings to life.
you'll learn the fundamentals of oil painting. Learn layering, blending, color mixing, and classic painting techniques while creating rich, expressive artwork at your own pace.
Fast-drying, colorful, and full of possibilities! Acrylics are perfect for experimenting with texture, bold brushstrokes, and vibrant paintings on canvas. You'll learn techniques that can be adapted to almost any style.
Opaque, vibrant, and incredibly versatile! Learn how to create smooth blends, bold colors, and beautiful illustrations using one of my favorite mediums. Great for beginners and experienced artists alike.
Purchasing ALL the supplies on the list is not necessary, but encouraged for the best learning experience. I linked my recommended supplies below, but you can always source your own elsewhere.
If you are unsure of where to purchase supplies, I highly recommend checking out jerry's artarama. They have an excellent selection of high quality art supplies and have great sales and prices! I get most of my supplies from there.
**for oil/acrylic lessons, here is a general color palette for starting out! (tho you can always stick to your basic RBY + black n'white )
for oil painting especially, its important to have some kind of lidded jar to store your solvent after use, as they evaporate very quickly
below I've linked options for both cold press(textured surface) and hot press paper(smooth surface); you can choose whichever you prefer or both!
I charge $50 per hour, but the length of lessons can be flexible based on your needs and schedule. We can discuss the best lesson duration for you when we plan your lessons.
Of course! Learn at your own pace. The lessons aren't going anywhere.
Lessons typically begin with a discussion of your goals and interests. From there, I create a lesson plan tailored to your needs. Each lesson includes a mix of instruction, demonstration, and hands-on practice.
Absolutely! If you want to explore acrylic one week and gouache the next, or combine drawing with painting, lessons can be tailored to your interests. Just keep in mind that switching mediums may require additional materials.
Not at all! Many projects span multiple lessons, especially larger or more detailed pieces. You're welcome to work at whatever pace feels comfortable.
Definitely! If you're already working on a painting or drawing, we can use lesson time to improve it, troubleshoot challenges, or learn new techniques.
Absolutely! I provide constructive feedback on your artwork during lessons, helping you improve your skills and techniques.
Only if you want it! I can suggest optional exercises and mini-projects to help reinforce what you learned between lessons, but it is not required.
